The number ‘3’ figures large in this novel, and for a very good reason. It is integral to the plot and also to the amazing discovery that the protagonist made during his research. We don’t actually know how many original wise men there were. However, they brought the Christ child three gifts – hence the assumption that there were only three. We do know with some certainty where these wise men came from and why they gave three strange gifts. 3 WISE MEN unlocks some of the mystery that surrounded the historical wise men, and picks up on the 3 gifts. Oh dear, I will have to read more to find out!
